Wellens to Swinton would be my idea.

At times i've been unconvinced by him but lately he's started to prove me wrong. Very fast and possible long-term (or short-term?) replacement for Wellens.

So many people mention it that I'm intrigued to see it. However, I don't know what he would bring to the role that wouldn't be massively eclipsed by the abilities of Flanders, Wilkin and Soliola and am not even convinced he'd be a better bet than Dicko.

Nothing. He's not got great hands and everytime he tries to mix it with the big boys in the middle he gets hammered. I was one calling for him to be played in the pack a bit back, from watching him this year I don't think it would benefit the team at all.

Wello, as much as I love his soul, must go. Whether the club can see through the sentimentality or not I'm not convinced as we don't seem to even consider not playing him when he's fit. He's also club captain, joint with Jammer is he not?

If Maurice Lindsey were in charge of Saints, it would be time for one of his famous hand on shoulder conversations where he advises an ageing player it might be a good time to retire.

Mugwump mocking mental illness for a second time -

The is no way saints would get shut of wello as we ate going into the new stadium. He'll the be the local boy that leads us out for the first time.

Your correct, the is no room for sentiment and if Lindsey was in charge wello would be gone. Didn't lindsey get shut of steve hampson the season before his benefit year?

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Did'nt Lindsey bring back Radlinski on a free bee the season after he had been retired?

I think in part thats because Wello has slimmed down a bit.

I'm sure if he was given a forwards rather than backs training regime and bulked up he would be far better.
However there would still be question marks over whether he would be as good as an experienced backrower like Flannery, Wilkin, Puletua, Clough etc.

I think many of us are also forgetting that the game has evolved a lot since the part time era pre superleague. In those days it wasnt uncommon for bigger backs to move into the backrow as they aged. People like Kel Coslett and Neil Fox being two very notable examples. Ruben Wiki being the last notable example i can think of in the SL NRL era.
