All bar one of those did win trophies with the S so you maybe right, (actually the one who didn't was the one I thought could have made it bigger), though I did draw the line at actually paying a fee for Gus (a similar fee to what we paid for Long)

And as FTV says Brett Goldspink has to be the benchmark in terms of this "class"...

My real fear is we will sign a big contract with him that will financially cripple us and set a precedent for wages at the club for "big shot players".

We should offer him the same deal again and offer to review it when he can prove he is made of something more solid than farelys rusk.

but every RL and RU club in europe would be after him then( yes a big overexaggeration), driving up his wages, paying a relatively small (£100k) transferr fee, could save them more than that over his contract.

If Kyle does decide to leave us I hope it would be to the NRL rather than the dark side.

It seems to me that Kyle is possibly being badly advised. He is a tremendous raw talent and I sincerely hope he stays in RL and at Saints for that matter. He has shown great potential but he is far from proven yet and so it could be a big mistake for him to move to RU. I think his natural style of play is suited to RL but would be wasted in RU. I hope he isn't dazzled by big money offers and a promise of a fast track into the England set up. We need exciting players to stay in RL and I want him to stay at Saints so that we can be entertained by some good close derbies now that Wigan are back to being capable of making a game of it.

But if he decides to go, like Chris Ashton did then we should just move on and forget him and concentrate on the other young players who will surely come through.

What about long coming back there is rumour he unsettled at hull and doesn't even stay at the house provided for him by hull

That would make even less sense for Saints.
Eastmond played more games than Long last season.
