Moving Wellens or Roby there will just lead to more of the same. I think we either need to:

a) Put Gaskell in the team and give him more responsibility
b) Sign a natural half-back; i.e. someone who can make decisions quickly and can kick a ball. Doesn't need to be flashy, just reliable. As Offside Monkey has mentioned above, I reckon someone like Liam Finn could do that job for the time being.

Salford are reportedly on the verge of announcing the signing of a new full back. You never know - it might just be Hohaia. They're obviously desperate to show their intent, and I reckon Lance is about as high profile as they'll be able to get at the moment. If that were to happen that would give us a lot more options.

There are younger half backs around at other clubs.
Wire have Ratchford, Myler and O'Brien.
Leeds have Stevie Ward, 6 or 13.
Wigan have Powell, Hampshire and Williams.

They are around you just have to find them.

IF it is Hohaia ( ), then we could use that transfer fee for an actual HB. I know you've put 2 and 2 together here, but you never know...

New halfbacks are always available, it's how much you are willing to pay for them that counts.

I would drive Lance to Salford and carry him into the ground. Unfortunately I can't see that rumour being true, their fullback will no doubt be some fringe NRL player instead.

They were linked with Glen Fisiiahi from the Warriors, I'd imagine it's him.

I have heard from a couple of my "sources" that it is hohaia.

I think that Finn is probably not a bad idea as a short term solution. In the end whoever it is has to do a better job than Wilkin who apart from Leeds has actually not done a bad job. The sensible option would be Yates who is probably not far off a start.

Hohaia is the only player at Saints who brings any type of structure or organization to our play. If this rumour becomes reality for me Nathan Brown can go as well.

Really? Lance is undoubtedly a good player in the right position but he doesn't strike me as an organising half back in any way at all.

It doesn't help his cause when he tries to direct certain players and they just ignore him.
