I thought there was alot of dodgy decisions both for and against us.
I have no problem with the moving off the mark decision, but it needs to be enforced more often, too many times ref allow players to gain ground unfairly. The ruck is often in favour of the attacking player regardless of how they act. For mine the Catalan player did move off the mark, he stood up with Lance on his back, Lance did not have chance to even move it was that quick anyone thinking Lance could have done anything else has simply never tackled anyone. To regain your feet you have to be able to push up of the ground. But similarly when Lance conned the ref earlier on I thought that was moving off the mark, he deliberately dove between the players legs, the player could not do anything other than stand over Lance given that he was throwing himself down.
At one point Meli had moved so far off the mark he voluntarily went back about 5m as even he could not believe that they would allow such a rediculous amount of yards gained. Ironically if he had not gone back himself no doubt the ref would have just told him to play it where he ended up.
Yes Defended can lay on at the play the ball, but attackers for mine get far too much advantage in this area and can mess about just as much. Does anyone ever see a foot touch a ball any more?????
I'm not sure how they can tidy this up, but it can get a right mess at times.
Also there was a kick off which went out on the full. Now is it just me, but did not Meli catch the ball before it hit the ground???? I thought this was now deamed as the attacking players making the ball dead, regardless of how far over the line the ball is, it has to hit the ground before the player can catch the ball.
Should have been a penalty to Catalans surely by the current rules? Or is it litterally only for taking the ball out of play over the dead ball line and not the touch line.
I could go on, not sure whether meli touched the ball in flight either, not sure the catalan player charged down the lomax kick, etc etc etc
