2010 Top two try scorers in RL Pat Richards and Darrell Goulding
2011 Top try scorer Sam Tomkins, with Josh Charnley and Pat Richards also in the top 8 despite Richards missing a third of the season.

Nathan Brown is a great bloke some of his post interviews are fantasic. I remember one after a bad tempered game between SGI and the Storm. When asked about Jason Ryles getting sent off for kicking in the scrum he said he wasn't p1ssed off because he got sent off but he would have rather he had just unpack and started punching.

We are all assuming that Royce wants the job more than 2 years. I think if Royce wants an extention then he will get one.

As for Nathan Brown it is hard to understand why he would stay given how much he wanted to go home. All his will he stay will he go nonsense is worse than Eastmond's. As for his coaching ability he is one of the best games out there.

I've nothing against Royce as a person, hes a top top fella and you couldn't find a better guy as a person but I don't think he's a good coach and don't agree with most of his methods.

I think his recruitment fir this year has been strange and if he's left to sign players for the next two year then I fear what state he'll leave us in.

IMO let him finish the season off, pat him on the back and thank him for the tone and effort hes put in and get a real coach like Nathan Brown.

Do you not remember much of 2010 then ? I think you under estimate how good the filth actually were in attack that year thanks to McGuire.

In our 2006 season we only scored 17 more points than the 2010 Wigan, 2 more tries, less tackles bust and more errors. McGuire did that with an average team. He is a quality coach.

I'm puzzled by the anti-McGuire but OK with Brown view on here. Hudds have been playing the same Aus game for last few years, plenty of lying on and the like. I suspect that had McGuire been at any other club than Wigan (or been unsuccessful) he wouldn't have suffered half of the flak he got.

Either way,I wouldn't think that Brown for Saints would make a huge difference - the Saint's squad isn't that much better than Hudds.

Personally I hope we don't get Brown next season. Likeable chap though he is, his team appears to race out of the blocks and then die a death in spectacular fashion. They don't seem to be particularly aggressive either, and we have that problem already.

If Royce decides to go/Saints decide to let Royce go then I would like somebody completely new again to bring in new ideas, preferably someone who can teach defence and allow players to express their flair in attack. I think Royce could certainly do the latter given the stability and players available but I'm doubting his ability to coach the team and/or motivate the team to defend well. I can't remember the last time our first choice side shipped 36 points. The days of Millward maybe?

The problem with this is the trophies aren't handed out until the end of the season, so you are leaving it quite late to decide whether you want to sign him or look for a new coach.

Points doesn't automatically = exciting.

Under mcguire wigan were immensly systematic and effective.

IMO, their brand of football wasn't exciting, it just produced points on a consistent basis.

Well if we scored 922 points this year and had the best defence in the league i'm sure I wouldn't be the only one entertained.
