Didn't Wigan have special treatment when the salary cap came in that they could over spend while all other clubs having to abide by the cap?

Technically we werent over the cap, we deferred payments to pay for Fielden and Dobson. It was a loop hole so we were charged with going against the spirit of the salary cap. I nice made up rule that nobody had ever heard of. Be interesting to see when the clubs involved in the tax avoidance investigation will be deemed as going against the spirit of the cap.

I'll think you'll find the cap was already in place the year you signed glass jaw fielden.

I'm talking about the year the cap was introduced and Wigan was given special treatment as funny enough theyhad give all their best players long term contracts and used the excuse they couldn't ask their players to reduce their salary.

and i was talking about the last part of your previous statment, the year we avoided relegation and the alleged serious breach. It wasnt actually a breach, we deferred payments/renegotiated contracts to get round the cap. Not illegal, hence the loop hole and the made up rule. Like i said it will be interesting when the tax scandal surfaces and the clubs involved named and see if this rule of the spirit of the cap is applied.

Ahhh an off season pi$$ing contest in full flow, try not to insult people too harshly. Personally i think the term "vermin" is very offensive and almost certainly against the AUP, so lets have no more of it

Yes they did. We had a couple of minor technical breaches which Rogues likes to wet himself about whereas the Goon's looked for and found a way of cheating the cap to stop their decent into what was NL1, a blatant and obvious attempt at cheating.

but that was not the first time you were fined because of salary cap indescresions though was it?
