Yes but as its been said over and over again we had our first chioce 3 Half Backs missing (Eastmond, Pryce and Gaskell) and then lost Wheeler. Also lost Paul Wellens from Full Back in the same game. That would have disrupted even the best of sides not to mention all the players who where unavailable in the first place.

Seriously he already knew and understood what you just posted he's just fishing with another sneaky double edged comment

And even with the disruptions we came back from 12 points down (when Wigan were in a very comfortable position) and very nearly won.

And to be quite honest I would ashamed to come on this board boasting on such things claiming we had so many Internationals more on the field than Wigan. If Wigan cant put a side to bed long before the final minute (which is ravaged by injuries) there is something completley wrong there. I would be totally embrassed if I was a Wiganer.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

The point I was making was that the Saints team was not as weak as some were trying to make out.

 In terms of injuries, it was a fooking lot weaker than Wigan was and became more so thanks to Hoffman and Wello's ankle injury. We played all the second half with only two interchanges. Yet you still could only manage a win with help from a blind touch judge.

It was weakenend enough with christ knows how many first chioce players missing before and during the game. As I said before you should be embrassed that it took you until the final minute to beat us. I wouldnt start crowing about our team being not as weak because you where at Full Strength minus Fielden and I would be concerntrating on your own performance (or lack off) rather than trying to make your win better than it actually was. By rights you should have walked it.

Also Wigan didn't have anyone injured during the match, Lima came back on when he went off for a bit.

TBF regarding the forward pass, that was the one where Richards missed the conversion so it would have been 24-24, not that it makes it OK.

As has been mentioned, it's not necessarily about the number of injuries but where those injuries have decimated the team - against Wigan we were down to one 'half back' who at the start of the season wasn't considered in that position and was shoved in at centre or fullback.

Immediately, your direction, your planned moves, your ability to move the ball are all affected - the impact is 'whole team' and is huge.

Imagine Wigan without Tomkins (Pryce), Deacon (Eastmond), Leuluai (Gaskell) and Finch (Wheeler).

Not forgetting that their understudies are out as well and that is where the problem lies. if our injuries had been spread around other positions it wouldn't have been so bad.

Absolutely - Gaskell, Lomax and Wheeler were all considered understudies. In the case of Lomax and Wheeler, it's questionable whether they were even considered understudies - most had Wheeler down for a future centre and Lomax as a full back.

It's not our fault that your squad has no depth.

Anyway, nothing is won in April.
