But its these people who are often the engine of the team.

Its great having a sexy red Ferrari on the drive to look at, but if there's nothing under the bonnet it won't go far.

No big deal if Flannery or Meli go. I think both have played well enough to stay however we have youngsters coming through in both positions that can fill in admirably. Meli's finishing is something we'd miss badly, however I'm happy for us to give youth a chance because no matter what happens next year we're going to be up against it from the start with playing in Skidnes.

Re: Bulls after Saints duo : Mon Aug 16, 2010 2:34 pm
It's a shame we didn't give Meli a run in the centres a little earlier. He's looked a little unsure from time to time in defence in that position, but he's given us a bit of pace and strike power in the line, which is something we've been missing. As it stands I don't think we'll have enough time to see whether he'd ultimately be a success in that position. I'd be pretty happy if Meli stayed, but not particularly gutted if he went.

I've got plenty of time for Flannery, but I think it's fair to say that our selection of young back rowers, combined with the fact that he takes up a quota spot, will see him move elsewhere.
