He gets an awful lot of stick does Dawson on here. I like the lad, he's a safe, steady player and he works his backside off every game. He wouldn't be my 1st choice winger/centre but he's decent backup for injuries & poor form. He probably doesn't earn much on the cap either. Instead of slating him, saying he shouldn't even be in squad, never mind the team, let's be grateful for the way he's stepped in and done a job for us this season. No player should be undroppable. It's good that we've got lads like Dawson who are ready to step in, and that's part of the reason we finished top of the pile.
Don't disagree. The big flaw to Dawsons game is he doesn't jump for the ball. There's a classic example of Wakefield at LP - kick comes over he gets out jumped and the opposition score, turner just turned to him arms out like wtf? It almost happened again in huddersifeld had cudjoe not knocked on. BUT he's a solid player who works hard, and I've overall been impressed with him throughout the season (possibly because I had low expectation!)
That said Swift was like fresh air tonight, and whilst he looked a little unsure at first, he had a game which means he must play in the semi ...
