Desperately sad news. We always knew that this day would come but it doesn't make it any easier to take. He was an inspiration to every single one of us and we can all take something out of the way he lived his life. Fought his illness to the very end end and didn't give in no matter how tough it got. Steve was a true Man of Steel in every sense. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends who will hopefully be safe in the knowledge that they he was a true fighter who beat the odds time and time again. The town of St Helens couldn't be prouder of him.
Rest in piece, Steve. Gone but never forgotten.
