Thats the major factor that keeps them in contention, they have a couple of really good players and the rest are just very comited hard working and aggresive. Its an attitude we could do with at Saints.

Agreed! But even their do called "superstars" put the work and effort in. Look how committed Sam Tomkins is, he's prob 13st soaking wet but puts his body on the line.

I thought Harrison Hansons tackle on Ratchford was 100% legal. He didn't target the joint of the player. He actually hits the hip area of ratchford who fell funny.

The hip is a joint fwiw.

No way!

You could say that 50% of tackles are aimed for the joint if you look at it that way.

The tackle was 100% legal without a shadow of a doubt.

Maybe we have learned how to use the cap and not blow it on a first team full of stars who don't play as team like we did in years past. We have world class players, good solid players and squad fillers and this year unlike last SW managed to rotate them around and keep things fresh.

And I agree the Hanson tackle was legal but I can see why the debate. The one tackle I was surprised we was not pulled for was the one two minutes into the second half, I cant remember the Wire player and I think it was Taylor who hit his knees.

It was legal, and I don't think anyone would have Hansen down as a dirty player.

Wane has got these players believing in his own work ethic. But, the BIG transformation has come through the backroom staff. Mark Bitcon has to be one of Wigans best signings over the last ten years.

Also if you look at the Wigan team last night eleven of them have come through the clubs academy, that has to be the way forward for all teams.

blame the system, last season wigan was dumb and went all out this season wigan played it right.

Once we were guaranteed top 4 we stopped playing in the League. That is the weakness of SL something that Leeds and us have learnt now. After we got the top 4 spot look at the difference between the CC games results with the play offs and compare it to the league form. Players as dubairl says last season went into games wwanting to win everyone and trained hard all season. This season nursed players into the CC final and did the same going into the playoffs. And it worked. If we were 5 points clear the same time last season it would have been a cert we would have finished top. But Wane learnt a valuable lesson and used the system to his advantage.

I do not like the top 8 it punishes the side wanting to win every game. It needs changing.

I assume he developed this after he retired from playing. How you enjoying the ban on Redvee btw? It's wonderful without you.

Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for. To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I look forward to working with Shaun Wane and the players at Wigan.”

I've got to take my hat off to the Ape though wining the double. It's got to be the worst team on paper to ever win a cup never mind the double.

Wigan always work hard and play for each other.

You are capable of some very lucid discussion. No need to call him puerile names. And winning a cup, or two, probably means it isn't the worst team, on paper or otherwise.
I know it's hard to give respect, even grudgingly, but there's no need for disrepect.
