Why would any coach or player want to lose ?

Didn't ever suggest he wanted us to lose. That's your made up bit, as per usual.

I understand completely, I never said Brown said anything; I was giving my opinion on Saints season. You seem more optimistic than most about them turning their season around, and there’s nowt wrong in that, I hope they do, but what you say about what could happen in the playoffs hopefully with a full and healthy squad. Well not wanting to be nasty but the side must qualify for them first, and no matter what you, Brown or I say, that’s not a certainty is it?

I think we will make the top eight. I'm not as optimistic as you say, Im just trying to point out to certain saints fans that with the play off system anything can happen.

For what its worth, I think we will make the play offs but IMO don't think we have a realistic chance of winning super league due to the fact we've got no halfback and poor props but I bet the Leeds fans thought that for the past two years.

What Brown is trying to say - we've got bad injuries and in key positions but under the play off format, if we get a full healthy squad in play off time, we will stand a chance.

Not once does he say we don't want to win or we don't care if we lose, not once has he said this season is over!

Its not hard to understand really!

I know you are trying to be optimistic about the rest of the season - as is Brown, which is commendable ; but he didn't exactly have a brilliant second half to the seson last year at Huds.

Injuries so far this year notwithstanding, I have some worrying doubts about Brown and pray he has not lost his touch.

Tony smith was finishing 3rd bottom with hudds yes won a few things with Leeds and wolves.

That Brian McCdermott wasn't the best at London but his record certainly Improved at Leeds.

Its laughable that anyone can compare hudds to saints just because Brown is here. We've got different players, different styles, different club!!

Didnt hudds always start well under Brown?

Yes they did and the difference at Saints is painfully obvious.

Thepoint I was making that if you combine his last 12 months of coaching, the results are absolutely dire. No arguement with that.

I think Paul Daniels could have been coaching Saints and done no better. The cracks have been papered over for quite a while now. Overall the quality of the super league product is starting to fail, that can be evidenced by the number of players extending their careers. Saints have been caught out by reaching finals which buys you some time until it comes crashing down. We kidded ourselves as fans Lomax a quality rugby league player pushed to scrum half to accommodate Wello till it all went wrong. Gaskell who just was not the quality we are used to having. Finally a pack bolstered by pay day Aussies the wrong side of thirty, who I thought to be good signings at the time. Let Brown blood these youngsters who seem a higher caliber than some others of recent times. Percival v Tyrer and Thompson/Greenwood v Dixon/Ashurst. I hope so anyway

I agree with you and hope Saints do make the play offs, it wouldn't be the same without you in the mix.
