I think Makinson's being touted our new fullback when Wello calls it a day. If we tie Gaskell down we should have a good spine of our team made up of academy products if the likes of Hand, Forster and Greenwood step up with Lomax, Gaskell, Jones and Makinson already big parts of the team.

It seems obvious he's Brown's choice for #6. I guess he'll wait to check that he'll get the shirt once the season starts and that its not just preseason manouvering to get him to sign.
he's got a good partnership with Lomax, its his hometown club and, hopefully, our new coach will give us a boost to ensure a successful and enjoyable season for him. Fingers crossed.

Agreed.
Nathan Brown will have to do a great man management job to keep Lee and Lance happy this year, one of them isnt going to be happy, and id rather lose lance than lee

The understanding between Lomax and Gaskell is far greater than the one Lomax had with Hohia, and they complement each other so well. They seem to bring the best out of each other when they play together, and as a pairing, they look for far more complete. I like Lance as a player, and I have no doubts he would succeed at playing 1 or 9, but as a 6, he just doesn't fit the bill in my opinion.

Do you think he could succeed at 7, with Gaskell at 6? Out of interest.

I'd rather lance was our succession plan for Wello after this year!

You think Lance will be happy as a bench player all year?
I do agree and wish he would take up the Full back role next year, but i fear this will not be Wello's last year there

Depends how it's managed however you know we will get injuries and he will get time then, plus i'd imagine roby will be rested, wello will be rested in games etc (i'm not suggesting the beginning of last seasons rotation policy there, more in line with what wire have done last year)
