I quite like Gibson who, if he can stay inury free for a year or two may develop into a better three quarter than he already is, which is okay now.
Zak Hardaker was another name mooted as a winger we could have signed. Firstly, no-one had heard of him two years ago, secondly he's one of those who will be at Leeds all his career and will continue to show 'potential' and be touted to be Englands best until suddenly he is twenty nine and nowts happened (a la McGuire).
Also, to slate the club's recruitment in the backs is a little unfair. We signed the country's best three quarter who had held his own against the foreigners in the Tri-Nations, and less than two years later is heading back from whence he came. Its easy to continue to shell out money on players but if they don't deliver the goods, you become Bradford.
Meli has make a howler or two at the wrong time......but he is still our best and consistently so. When its tight and we need to score or just to break their line to open play, he is one of the few players I think could make a break. Defo worth a year....perhaps not two. Remember the brave but correct decision about Long?
