I agree but it was his best performance in saints shirt up to that point, I think that game give Jamie some confidence he needed after being out the game for a while.

Wish we had him this year, pure quality.

Royce favours the prop st 13 as do most nrl clubs. Tony p starts at 13 but plays effectively as a 3rd prop. The days of ball playing loose forwards is now a rare breed.

Unless we have injuries or for some other tactical reason, laffranchci/tony p will line up as a loose forward and play as a extra prop.

We've also played Paul clough in that role. It also gives royce his back on the bench as we still have 4 props in the team but three start.

So much for playing a prop at 13!!

It was friendly mate, everyone was all over the place. I'll still put money on laffranchci or tony p starting at 13 and playing prop.

I thought we was shocking tonight until Gaskell went to stand off. I know it's a nothing game but we was awful. The defence was poor, the attack was one man rugby and the kicking game was as poor as I've ever seen by a super league club.

Didn't go but listened on wish fm and they said the same gaskell came on and changed the match, gave us better direction. I know it's a friendly but....

Is it worth stopping a working combination? I know Lance got MOM, but that's the sponsers MOM, who knows what they decide when they pick a player?

I went and didn't know lance got man of the match. To be honest he was rubbish, I'm not bagging him because it's his first game with new players but never was he man of the match. He missed at least three tackles and was slow with ball in hand. I thought he looked a lot more comfortable when he went fullback, he's a fullback IMO.

I'd defo 100% make Gaskell first choice halfback and let lance and lomax fight for the other spot.

Lomax and lance are both same type players, they are runners, you can see their first incentive is to run. Gaskell is a natural halfback.

Well we've all been saying that during the off season. The comments by ROyce on the Saints site before the match were more encouraging though. He did say he would try a few combinations and was not afraid to put lance at FB. So as long as he keeps that mind set for SL, then the combination may come out right.

Also interesting to see that La Frank is going to be proping.

How did Flanaghan do?

Hopefully there will be alot of work done between now and my debut at the Salford match.

Seams they are targeting 18k for that one, lets hope tonight did not put too many doubts in peoples heads.
