I heard the banging hon. I was there. I saw what your fans were doing. If they were caught they were going to be charged, just like the fan who broke the steward's jaw. Put those incidents together and (a) you have more trouble than we had at KR in years, and (b) you as a collective were going to be viewed by the police as potential trouble makers.

Like I said at the outset, you can't try to claim the moral high ground when it comes to fan behaviour, which is what you were trying to do with the Wire fan, simply because your own fans behave badly as well.

So you was stood right at the back of the away end in the middle of the away support was you? I was there, and im telling you it fell at half time, it was hanging off before the game. The bloke who broke the stewards jaw was charged, and banned. Can you please give more examples of bad behaviour by Wigan fans?? Id love to hear it, because iv travelled the country watching Wigan and have only ever viewed trouble at Warrington once and the one idiot hitting a steward. Enlighten me.

If you've travelled all over and only seen trouble at Warrington once and the KR incident with the Steward, then why are you condemning Warrington fans? Lets face it, calling Wire fans scum is a popular sport with SOME Wigan fans (they also tar Leeds and Saints with the same brush), but breaking a stewards jaw is infinitely more serious than problems with a few chavs. The steward is there in effect to Police the crowd and breaking someone's jaw amounts to GBH. I would think that if he's been convicted he'll not need a ban, because he'll get 5 years inside.

Just as bad as grown men headbutting women or setting lads lay on the floor on fire?

Yes, I agree. What I don't agree with is that a number of Wigan fans brand all Wire fans scum (the last one was on Friday night), when we aren't. Everyone has a few idiots, but when I tried to argue the point I was ridiculed on your board. Some of us are quite nice you know.

I know a few decent Wire fans, with whom I can have a decent RL discussion, but as you say there are some from the lower edge of society (as have most clubs)

I noticed before the game that there were warrington fans in our stand, young skins heads! By the way im not saying all skin heads start trouble.

it's not your stand it's a shared stand it's only a full away end if all tickets are sold by the away team.Saints usually fill it moving the west stand season ticket holders having to move into the south stand. This year was the worst away attendance I've seen by Saints for a very long time. Therefore the west stand season ticket holders could stay there but not only that Warrington sold west stand tickets for general sale and a week before the match had 1500 on general sale.

I wasnt condeming Wire fans in general though was I? I was speaking of the idiots that stand in the middle of the west terrace and provoke away fans, this happens all the time it seems after reading other teams forums.

Yes I know its not all and I know a few decent wire fans and met a couple in Edinburgh last year.
But in my personal experience Warrington have more than the chavs who think they are 12 men that all clubs have!
After we finally won at HJ i was in the group of wigan fans many of whom were girls and lads who weighed 8 stone wet through who were outnumbered 2 to 1 by big blokes all of whom could handle themselves and were there simply to have a do at Wigan!
Again after you won the challenge cup last year me and my mate had 5 wire fans come looking to kick off with us purely because we were wigan!

Warrington are suffering from their success and the added surge of absolute fools that are now attending games. The regulars, and I'm sure that includes most of the people on RLFANS are fine, great fans to have a laugh with at games. But there is a growing element of absolutely cock sure lads that are ruining it and it's worse than the idiot element at most clubs.

I think it's only a matter of time before there are serious incidents at games involving Warrington. So many chest beating lads who cannot take you looking in their direction, never mind answering them back. The whole football atmosphere of intimidation and goading has no place in RL, but sadly it's there now. The mentality of people who, with a whole stadium to choose form, choose to buy their ticket in the away end and spend the game asking people what they are looking at needs to be questioned. Warrington as a club shouldn't be selling tickets to people for the away end if the rest of the ground isn't full.

Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Winston Churchill)

Re: Crowd Trouble? : Tue Jun 28, 2011 10:05 am
Saddened! I rather think it was the unwillingness of Saints fans to turn up to the game on Friday that resulted in Wire fans being in the away end. If Saints fans don't turn up, what is Warrington supposed to do? Lose money?

Those of us who went were noisy and supportive throughout, even though we lost. We recognised a good effort among the dropped ball and atrocious goal line defence. However, I don't think the Warrington club can be blamed for selling tickets to fans who actually want them (as opposed to Saints fans, who clearly didn't!).
