You have hit the nail on the head, we need guile and we need it in the centre. For years everyone has moaned about lack of pace in the backs, what do you expect playing the likes of gilmour and flannery in the centre spot.

Every team has at least two centres yet we've had one for the last 4 years.

Is it just coincidence that we've nothing since playing with one centre?

Yes mate that's how I see it, we need to use Sia on the fringes and not as a prop. I'm pretty sure he'll bust a few tackles given he gets a good ball out wide.

I think teams spot him, they tire him out then hit him in our own 20 meter knowing he's tired. Terry o conner was talking about this tactic, it's called a spot attack.

Or you could say we've no players with the x factor in attack. We've no go to players when we need them.

In the past we had go to players in iro, newlove, Lyon out wide.

I get a bit bored of fans of a certain longevity who look back to the past and compare then to now. The past is gone; those players are gone; that time is gone. I prefer to appreciate what we have now and what we could have in the future. But maybe that's just me!

I think Lomax is looking a bit like an x factor player. If he could stay on the pitch for long enough, Wheeler is definitely a go to man. So is Roby. And a few others as well.

Your missing the point, I'm saying we need a proper centre to partner Shenton for next year which is very much the future and not the past.

That's why I edited my post.

But you're just focusing on the centre spot. So there is no point in discussing this because I don't agree that the centre spot needs fixing.

Why does every team since rugby league started play with two in the centre?

It's no surprise that saints cup winning teams of the past have included two proper centres and not any old player that holds his hand up to play there each week.
