He's from the new zealand part of wigan, and has supported them all his life, as have his parents etc, etc.

Wigan offered him a contract but Saints offered 10x more than what he is worth so as much as he wanted to play for Wigan he went to Saints purely for an inflated contract

Another bit of info for you all as I know how highly you regard my posts.

From what I was told, his mother came over here as she was offered a very good job in the banking industry.
How he signed for Saints I'm not sure, bit if you want I'll ask the question.

For once, Rogues is correct. His family were looking at moving back to NZ and he was going to go with them. Not sure whats happened since

I would guess it wasn't that good a job, she was working in the main St Helens Post Office when I spoke to her and her husband after Oldham's first game at Whitebank when her other son Matty was playing.
