Brian Ashton is from Leigh and played RU for Orrell. He has a very healthy respect for Rugby League and I think his dad actually played RL for Leigh.

1895 northern union clubs evolving into 'league'...fast forward 1995 union becomes professional in the space of 16 years we are witnessing a carbon copy of that (professional) evolution .2011 rugby union is the 'new' league,2011 league is wilting badly its either cozy up and merge (although union in their pomp at present i doubt) or sorry folks no alternative

I know he does Rogues but deep down he is still a unionite,each to their own.
