Nobody seems to know the actual cost/value of Langtree Park. I've seen £20 million, £25 million and now £44 million. The last one sounds best though, don't you think?

Stadium:MK is having 10,000 new seats (on previously constructed but so far unused terracing) and some stairs going up to them, and (our old favourite) exterior cladding installed on it's 3 currently unfinished sides come the summer, and just that work alone is reportedly going to be costing over 30 million to do. If it cost less than that to build an entire 18,000 capacity stadium from scratch on a brownfield site then I have simian nephews...

all I am saying is the figure of £44mil is not one I have seen mentioned in the press or on any forum so where that figure has come from I dont Know

http://www.sthelensstar.co.uk/news/9449 ... Park_roof/

http://www.sthelensstar.co.uk/news/9316 ... __stadium/

http://www.sthelensstar.co.uk/sport/939 ... up_nation/

so thats three stories that call it the £25 million stadium

Just seen a tweet indicating that four of the bars in the ground have been fitted out by Dawnvale.

They expect to have pics up shortly

Re: Stadium Site pictures : Fri Jan 13, 2012 10:55 pm
The issue of the cladding was brought up today at the founders do, and it was confirmed there that only both ends will be clad.

The North stand is to stay open for now and the foreseeable future.

Also discussed the roof, apparently the first roofgate scandal was caused by the damaged section not being fitted properly.

The second Roofgate scandal was to do with design. Apparently the roof should be able to handle very high winds (Well over 100mph) far higher than were experienced at the time. However the curved nature of the corner along with the overhang, created localised wind vortices that whipped up the wind speed and created pressures that the roof wasnt designed to handle. Hence they are now strengthening that side, so it can handle these unanticipated pressures.

I suspect this should mean that the south west corner Family seating area will be quite a windy place to be.

Anyway onto some piccies from today.
I have many more, but i want to leave some surprises for people to find out when they visit.

The flower beds also contain a surprise that people will discover in the summer.

The staircases in the South stands have murals on them.

This one features Gary Wheeler scoring a try. For some reason the creative people have decided it would look better if it looks like someone has spilled paint over it.

This went down very easily. Saints Gold is a decent and refreshing pint. The initial first taste was of a hint of burnt toast (which i dont like) however it then settled down to a mild bitter state with a hint of citrus.
I reckon those glasses will start walking from the bar very fast. Maybe Saints should offer them for sale in the club shop.

The Founders bar was filling up nicely as darkness fell. Royce looks tired though.

To the far left is Saints official photographer Bernard Platt with bearded Saint Mike Appleton ex SBFT from the funbus days alongside.

Liked the tour so much I decided to have a second inspection, and this time round noticed some additional work they had done since the first tour.

They have started to put up the Bar signs. Here are a few of them.
