Cas know that he can leave for free so have no need to throw chase into tge deal. I would imagine they wil be expecting some serious wonga as compensation.

They would also lose a lot of their bargaining chips if he said he didn't want to play for them anymore. I'm not suggesting a swap would come off, but I think Chase is likely to move clubs soon and I can't see anyone bar Wigan paying a fee for him.

Given the level of incompetency at the RFL, I've no doubt that the cap has got holes in it that you could drive a bus through. There is a lot of suspicion at the moment about players being paid as consultants through Partnership companies they are directors of to maximise their earnings. But there is also the worry that those companies can also invoice clubs for additional consultancy work and this wouldn't show on the cap anywhere as it's not officially related to the player involved.

I've said it for a while now, but the autobiographies for player, coaches and officials over the next 10/20 years are going to be very interesting. I've no doubt there are countless horror stories to come out of the cap.
