It's one thing wanting a new stand off and another if we get one. The fact the is no English stand offs off contract (we won't pay transfer fee) and our quota is full then it's going to be tough.

Yeah but at least he recognises there is an issue there. Lee Briers is OOC, wouldn't mind him for a year to steer Gaskell through.

I've said it weeks ago I'd try for briers if nothing else out there.

I'd be happy offering him a whopping 1 year deal. He's exactly what we need and is one of the smartest players in the game, he would bring the young lads on no end. If there is no remaining animosity towards his exit of the club he may be tempted by a big offer to finish out his career with his childhood team.

I'd throw a 1yr playing deal his way and a 2yr deal on coaching staff.

I think we missed out big time on ratchford. I'd rather him him as he's non quota and would come much cheaper than hohaia.

Smith in to replace him would be a very strange move. I like him as a player, but he's clearly not going to make us compete for titles again.

I see smith as a brown type of signing, much like brough who was not top of anyone's wanted list when he went to hudds. Problem for me is that he has made that sort of signing for hudds to turn them into a top 4ish side, to make tge step to trophy winning side needs something extra.

Likewise with Chris Hill, in terms of value I think he was the best SL signing for this season.

Going back to the coaching a team of:

Head Coach - Nathan Brown

Attack Coaches - Sean Long & Lee Briers

Defence Coaches - Keiron Cunnigham & Paul Sculthorpe

Fitness - Apollo Perilini

That would do for me! Wigan have a similar approach with Iestyn Harris, Paul Deacon and Kris Radlinski and it's working marvelously for them.
