I was a 7, so it would normally have been me you'd have been shoeing.

I'll never forget one game against our school rivals (the local Grammar School). It was a bit tasty at the best of times, made even tastier by the fact lads we went to primary school with went there, and our friendship group was split right down the centre.

I got to the back of the ruck and there were KES hands all over the ball.
"Can we clear the hands please sir?"
"Play the ball 9"
"Yes, sir"

The lad from over the road was the one with his hands all over the ball. Next time I saw him, he had a lovely cast. I never had the heart to tell him it was my shoeing.

I don't agree with that at all.

It was obvious to most that he would leave and as he missed many games last season why not cash-in and use Matty Smith who has a very good kicking game while looking to bring talent through.

I know, why not have the board kneel and beg him to stay "oh for the good of the club PLEEEEASE Kyle do us the honour we can't move forward without you" sorry I just don't like being held to ransom.

Give over. Whilst no player is bigger than the club, Kyle is one of the premier talents in the game. If you want to challenge for trophies, he's the standard of player you need - you have to at least try a hang on to them.
What you're suggesting is akin to dating a fat girl you don't like, just for the security that she's unlikely to get a better offer than you!
