I'm with you on this one, short term coaching deals' only benefit is so you can get rid of the coach early, if you think that may happen at the start, why employ them anyway?

A four year deal not sure if we ever offered a 4 year deal. Millward got one after winning alot at Saints, and then was promptly sacked, but other than that it's been 3 year deals until we got to Potter.

4 years would be massive and you could only offer it to a certainty in coaching, that would be a guru type of coach, smith at warrington or bennett. I think 3 years is plenty of time for most coaches.

The length of contract doesn't matter as long as you extend the contract early enough for there to be no speculation.

it doesnt matter but i think some people see the longer deal as less of a punt in the dark and more someone we REALLY want. im happy with 2/3 yr i think 4 would be to long more so when you think that 5 years you start talking about a coach getting stale

Our fans would go in to meltdown if Edwards was appointed. The majority would be totally gutted.
