Warrington got Ratchford, Salford got Fages. Sneyd etc. Every other club in SL manages to find 13 players for their starting positions, why do we find it so difficult?

It's like the daft arguments as to why we didnt bother signing a centre to replace Willie Talau , people will always try to defend the indefensible.

Fages is a kid - who might be good for us but a) he's not available and b) may turn out to be as brittle as wheeler, disloyal as eastmond, or as problematic as Gaskell - to improve the squad we need someone of proven quality otherwise we may as well just go with our own kids! Ok Saddened I'll be serious for 5 minutes. Here's an offer for you as you are apparently so tormented with the prospect of our retaining Wellens and the running of our commercially inept Club that it must be causing you sleepless nights. You also clearly can't see a different point of view (note: you don't have to agree with it, merely accept that there is a different view and, possibly, rationale behind what we are doing in addition to some of the constraints we operate within).

So. At the next fans forum where either Nathan Brown and/or Paul Wellens and/or Eamonn are present I'd like you to come and put forward the following points verbatim from your posts on here:

1. Paul Wellens is a truly awful player and adds nothing to the team. He's awful and should be let go now as he contributes nothing. Your words.

2. We are completely inept in our recruitment strategy and Nathan Brown/Mike Rush are simply not doing their jobs properly and are not good enough for the positions they hold. Your words.

3. We are a poorly run Club to the point where we cannot compete with other Clubs. Your words.

4. Lance Hohaia should be released from his contract forthwith, no matter what the financial implications, as he is also awful. Your words.

5. We have no chance of winning trophies, and have not been trying, for the last few years. Your words.

All of the above, paraphrased in certain instances, are representative of the messages you post on here. I, and many others, would dearly love to hear the responses you get from both the panel and the audience.

In return, if you are brave enough, I will personally make a donation to the Steve Prescott Foundation and post an image of the receipt on this forum if allowed by the mods. Others may also be willing to dig deep at the prospect.

So. How about it?

The internet doesn't find players, it names them, but then that's it. Anyone can do that, it's a touch harder actually signing them.

Excellent, lets sign a 32 year old stand off who isnt good enough to get into a team finishing 2 places below us in SL and has instead been shipped out on to the wing because he will be the saviour! Great shout...

Also, anybody who thinks Ben Roberts is the answer obviously hasnt seen him play much recently, showed great potential in his younger days but hasnt been anything special since, I'd rather stick with Lance than bring him over on even bigger money

I wouldn't pay any attention to anything Saddo says - when Sam Hopkins is a stand off that's all you have to bear in mind. He still hasn't responded to my little challenge from last night.

I think the popular term from recent weeks is 'fisted'.

Unfortunately the truth hurts some people. As you said in an earlier post, when it comes to Wellens it is pure sentimental nonsense to offer him a new deal.
