I was (yet again) annoyed by (yet another) dig at the fans. I wonder if he realises just how patronising he can sound?

At no point does he say the team is brilliant and he does actually say we have fantastic fans. You are literally just making things up.

I really don't like the guy. He's making his own position more untenable the more he speaks. His pre-season programme notes have become farcical and it does seem that he's genuinely deluded and actually believes the team is capable of winning the Grand Final.

He spoke a lot of sense and pubicly back his staff. I can't see what the problem is (besides Rogues in disguise having a field day with the fishing rod!)

I read this thread before I watched the interview. Having now watched it, what the OP has said is utter tripe re: what he says about the fans. He mentions the fans once and says that they are 'great'.

I'm 100% happy with what he said and I suggest that you should not comment on this thread unless you've seen the interview.

He has expressed confidence in the players and the staff. There is no problem with doing that (publicly) at this stage - just before a derby!

I agree entirely. Why the mods on here continue to let her get away with such rubbish I'll never know. She's pretty much telling lies about McManus because she is quoting him on things he hasn't said.

I was expecting a completely different interview. I taped the show purely to watch the interview!

I had already watched it when I read this thread and had to go back and watch the full 15 mins of it again to make sure I hadn't missed something.

He didn't say half of the things he is being accused of. People may say he his naive in his belief and faith in the team and that's fair enough, but to say he has criticised the fans is blatant lying and something should be done about it in my opinion. She cries like a baby when I called her by her first name and I received a warning, yet she can publicly tell lies about the chairman? Shambles.

I agree really. If it was just a criticism of what you nicely term as 'his naive belief and faith in the team' then that's fair enough.

But I'm struggling to see where he criticised the fans in that interview?

I'm not that fussed what McManus says in the press, I couldn't care less. Actions speak much much louder than words and we need to be improving the quality of our squad, letting the players who aren't performing go (as he threatened to do - not reward them with new deals) and making sure Brown knows that pi$$ing about every week and treating us to a nightmare show is simply not acceptable. We are the paying public and we pay to be entertained not tortured (although I accept some people may like that kind of thing )

McManus is a fan as well as the boss so I'm sure he's as cheesed off as the rest of us but it's his job to take the steps needed to put it right.
