another positive for is that, lately, when selected in h back row, he's encroached on the half back role anyway and the result is that things got cluttered up and we effectively lost a forward.

Everyone isn't. Wilkin isn't a scrum half. But he had a good game last night. Hopefully we are looking to ship in a scrum half from somewhere because we certainly need one.

Are their any good Championship SH's? Phil Clarke made a point about giving lower league players chance now. We've gone for Walmsley, but could their be a hidden gem of a halfback we are missing?

I've been talking about Liam Finn as an option for a while, but that would be more a stopgap than an investment for the future.

I think we will stick with Wilkin until the off season. It's fine saying we needs a proper HB, but you can't tear up contracts, and a fee is unlikely. Brown will have this on his mind, when April ends as that's when the window opens, so I'm sure he will have a shopping list for the Chairman.

I realise it's unlikely, but we could probably quite easily squeeze a championship player into our salary cap by sending someone out on loan, and there is unlikely to be a large fee involved. Championship players tend to be allowed to leave when SL clubs come calling (whether because of good will or contract clauses I'm not sure).

It would also sove our goal kicking - it was Finn's record Sinfield was chasing the other night against us.
