IMO based on what I saw of lance Hohaia at hooker last he was to slow behind the play the ball. He takes to long to get the pass out which stops us getting quick play the balls. He basically stands up has a look then passes.

He's a fullback!

The simple answer = because he's not a hooker, he's just someone who can do a average job at hooker if required.

He's a fullback, simple as that.

He's gone. Will play bits & pieces until an NRL Club has a major injury and needs a stopgap. 12 months tops.

The bloke has played internationally for NZ at 1, 6 and 9 so I would say he is capable of playing those positions if we need him to. First season into a new team is always hard as a halfback to adapt to the team, then with the coach being sacked 7 games in and not playing a settled position in those 7 games it would have made it a lot harder for him.

I would fully expect Lance to show his class in 2013 and why we signed him, and if that comes at 1, 6 or 9 I arent fussed. He is a great asset to the squad and think he will prove me right this season.

Given the cash influx into the NRL, if Lance isn't getting the rugby he wants, I can see an Aussie club coming in for him. If he's having to play utility, then he may as well do it closer to home for an extra wedge of cash. He's got the rep and is still the right side of 30.

These days, shifting antipodean deadwood shouldn't be too hard.

I'd agree , he is a fullback and in the friendly against hudds showed glimpses of what he could offer there with some decent returns. He should be our starting fullback.

He cant play six,simple as.
He looked farrrrrrrrrrr more effective at nine against Wakey than he has ever done at six. In saying that If you compare Lances distribution from the ruck compared to the young lad (speakman???) against Hudds and the kid was miles better. Obviousley Lance has other qualities but theres a reason hes played over 90% of his career at fullback.
So for me he's an interchange hooker or fullback and nothing else.

I think he'd be a revelation at fulback for us. He'd score 15/20 tries a season and would clear his line better than most fullbacks.

He won't be at the and of the season. Mind you that applies to a lot of Saints players.
