Done a comparison of Sales from last year to this year.

As of 22nd October 2011 the following were the figures for unsold seats.

North stand
C= 36
D=15
E=0
F=27
G= 111

South was
C= hundreds unsold (only 23 sold)
D=45 unsold
E= 1
G= 3
H= 6
I= 190

Move forward to 2012 and it would appear Saints are keeping back online Sales for the South stand Silver block eg C,D,H,I as they are not available online. Alternatively they may have sold out, which i find unlikely.

North stand figures for 2012 are as follows

c= 63 unsold
d= 25
e= 28
f= 61
g= 161

For the South stand we only have available

e=18
G=20

So to sum up. Its clear that season ticket sales are down at the same period of last year for the North stand. There is also limited evidence of a drop in the South stand as well. Not catastrophically down as some predicted, but still a drop.

North stand sales are 149 down on this time last year.
In the two blocks of the south stand i have figures for they are 34 down.

I therefore suspect we will be looking at around 9k to 9.5k season ticket holders this time round, rather than the
magical 10k of the first season.

9k season ticket sales would still represent lala land from the days of Knowsley road, when 4-5k was the norm. It would also represent a figure that only Leeds and Wigan could match or better. Wire by the way had record season ticket sales last year and they got around 8k. Hull usually have between 8k and 9k season ticket holders.
I discount Bradford as they just gave them away last year and paid the ultimate price for doing so.
The rest of the clubs struggle to attain 5k season ticket holders.

I don't understand why they have made the North stand all allocated.

Well for a start unallocated seating areas need to keep 10% of seats empty for safety reasons. So by making the stand all allocated it increases the stadium capacity for big matches.

I would also suggest from looking at the TV evidence from last season that very few fans took up the offer of unallocated seating in the North stand. Hence Saints would have deduced that the market for unreserved seating is small, therefore no need to have as large an area of the stadium kept as unreserved seating.

To cater for the fringe market they have kept a small area of the South stand unallocated. This is to cater for those who like the flexibility of choosing who to sit next too on a match by match basis.

Well, there you go. Our appalling lack of ambition as a club, the terrible standard of players we keep signing and utter absence of any kind of success whatsoever has driven the fans away in their droves for next season as predicted. When will this club learn that sound financial management and investment off the field will never lead to people through turnstiles and bums on seats? Paying spectators are all just trophy chasing, glory-hunting plebs at the end of the day and unless we mortgage our future now on a load of expensive new signings that we can't afford, can't fit under the salary cap or quota, and that don't even exist in the first place then we risk losing literally dozens of fans next season... When will the board learn?

So does that mean the great seating swap can now commence???

I went down as soon as it was up and changed seats to better ones closer to the half way line :CROWN: :ROCKS: :WAVE: :GUITAR: :DRUMMER:

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Re: Season ticket renewals deadline passed : Mon Oct 15, 2012 12:05 pm
I did a bit of seat counting last year, but I don't think I'll be bothering this year. But thanks for the figures chair.

Speaking of figures, it's going to be hard to tell with the east stand now open for season tickets what the actual numbers are. It's entirely possible that some people will elect to move from their seats to standing. With Saints quoting 8k season tickets before the end of the season, I think the saddened ploy of ladies in tight t-shirts and big smiles can be postponed for another season. The 10k figure is well within sight, it maybe that some of those tickets will be the cheaper variety this year, ie the East stand rather than seated. But all in all a good performance given the so so performances on the field.

Interestingly though, when the tickets first went online there was no west stand season tickets available. Now there are!!

I think somebody forgot to put the West tickets online. Someone asked about it on twitter and the next day they were available.

It seams there was a bit of a Doh! moment. The Silver section for the south stand was not put online. Everyone I think was assuming that it was sold out, but that turns out not to be the case.

In addition to that though we have a counter of sorts on the front page of the Saints site. Not sure if it's a live counter or just updated as and when the website manager feels like it.

So far 8132 sold. So people are buying after the early bird time has run out.

People will buy right up the lead up to the season, some people possibly wait to see how well they are, how much money they have, if they are in work, if not, etc etc and thats why its not always possible for people to buy until a few weeks before the season starts.

Confident of over 10000 for next season, based on current figures.
