If you took off the "Wello Not Worthy" factor by some fans on here he was easy the best player on Friday. It would,t surprise if Wello wins the saints player of the year this season.
Is this indicative of how the mighty team have fallen or perhaps the reality that Wellens is still one of the best full backs in the game.

If you see tries as playing well, then fine, give him the award. But can you tell me what he did against London, or throughout this season that makes you think he's even worth a shirt, when we've got a World Cup winning fullback who is stupidly and farcically being played in the halves, a scrumhalf who has all the attributes to be a fantastic modern fullback and a winger who contributes nothing because we can't get his pace involved in the game? Wello is a massive part of the reason we've not won any of the last 5 Grand Finals and why we won't be appearing in any finals for a good while. He's solid, won't make too many mistakes (Apart from being stepped or outpaced by just about everyone over the last few years) and falls over the line for a try or two a game after wasting a tackle or two every single set in the opposition 20 by dying with the ball.
I love Wello the person as much as any of you, but if you can't see how poor a modern fullback he is, you are blinded by your affection for him. The pro-Wellens people on here just regard not knocking on as being a fullback playing well. The game has moved on and left both Wello and Saints 10 years out of date.
