Farrell was a myth. He was in a largely poor Wigan side and did the valiant hero act. But he spent a lot of his career pretending to be a half back and a creative loose forward. He was a very selfish player who would happily have lined up one his own just to get more glory.
Farrell wasn't a myth, he was great captain and highly respected by all players that he ever was captain of and that includes the likes of scully.
Farrell was a leader and it doesnt make a difference if he was in a poor Wigan side or not.
