Mugwump mocking mental illness for a second time -

"You are mentally ill and I can't indulge your madness any more"

Utter disgusting abusive remark from a keyboard warrior

Good signing for Castleford. They've now got better backs than we have, much like most of the other also-rans in the league.

What's the point of letting him go exactly? I don't care what anyone says, Turner is no better, if we sign him that is. In terms of pace he's no doubt a bit quicker, but in terms of centre play he's not as good as Shenton. I think Turner will very quickly become next season's scapegoat. And even if you assume Turner is a centre, it still leaves us with only 1 established centre in the squad. Big weakness again I feel, perhaps someone should point out that a squad needs at least 2?

I just hope the club has something special lined up to surprise us with. A lot has been made about Brown's desire to sign a half back, which I find utterly stupid considering we've got Gaskell and Lomax. It's rumoured Makinson is moving to fullback, Hohaia to 9 from the bench, so where does Gaskell fit in exactly? Wigan?

I know they can't come out and explain their plans for obvious reasons, but it all seems rather random to me and the fact we're bidding for Matty Smith when we've got Gaskell and Lomax doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that we'll get these decisions right, when we've been getting them wrong for 5 years and more.

We've only played with one centre for past seasons so it won't make any difference. I'm glad other fans are starting to notice that teams play with two centres.

It's strange this announced now after the txt I got which I pm you the other day. Maybe that txt was right.

In the cas announcemt it also says they will announce more signings in recent weeks, if that is gilmour then it looks like the players txt could be spot on.

In terms of Turner being ordinary, he may well turn out to be so. But as Shenton has been the definition of ordinary, the worst case scenario is we'll have replaced like for like and saved some cap space.
Agreed. If we're going to get average, then we should be paying average.

There's still a good centre in Shenton, we've seen it in glimpses inthe past few weeks with the classy work against leeds and his break round Horne at Hull, but he's a centre that needs to come from deep for things to work and, atht e moment, that doesn't seem in our play book. A player with a bit more basic raw power probably suits us.
I'm just glad Wigan didn't dip in for him - their flowing moves would have made him look top drawer and we'd have had to put up with all the pie eater having another reason to crow at us.

Good luck Mike.

As for us only having one established centre (if we sign Turner) for next year. I'd hope that by the end of this season, Josh Jones has erased that problem.
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
As we keep having to remind each other every time rumours arise of a quality overseas signing, we'd need to offload one of our contracted overseas players to sign him.

Certainly looks that way, all the ducks are falling into a row. But the PM was hardly full of positive news for us was it. Did you find out what the score is with Wello?

By all accounts saints are paying a percentage of Shentons wage for the first year so any saving made by replacing him with Turner will be negligible. Seems a strange move to me, surely signing turner in addition to Shenton would have been a better move? As a replacement it seems a downgrade. And is Turner an out-and-out natural centre anyway? He's shown decent form for parts of this season but spent an awful lot of his career playing in other positions.

If we are paying a bit of Shentons's wage then Cas have shoved it back up us and we've been taken for mugs.

In monetary terms you are correct. But in salary cap terms it would free up some space. Us paying Shenton wouldn't matter as he wouldn't be registerd in our squad so it wouldn't count on the cap.
