Mugwump mocking mental illness for a second time -

"You are mentally ill and I can't indulge your madness any more"

Utter disgusting abusive remark from a keyboard warrior

Those wanting to bash the Chairman, only need look as far as Bradford to see what having no money man in charge would put us.

Yes he signed Simmons, but he also signed Anderson.

Yes we lost today, but we will also be playing on Monday Garuanteed.

Chairmen are there to run the club, coaches are there to win games, players to play to the coaches plan.

Whilst BigMac may take some impact for Simmons, you have to balance it out overall with the running of the club. If we are lying in the bottom half of the league for a few years then sure a change at the top would be something you could expect from fans. But at the moment we are in the top 8 and I think we'll still be top 4 come season end. That would be no case to call for replacing the chairman. ps who would replace him???

No one disputes that McManus deserves all the credit in the world for managing the transition to the new stadium. But based purely on his dealings in recruitment his grade is modest to say the least. There have been some monumental mistakes made over the last five years. Our backs are a shadow of those going back twenty to thirty years. Gardner, Meli and even Shenton will not be remembered as players of distinction in the future.

Give over. The CEO makes such decisions as part of his job when deciding which players he can afford to fit under the cap.

A coach may ask to sign such and such a player but it is the CEOs job to assess whether he offers value for money.

Going back to the original question - on the face of it Brown is an excellent coach. He should give Saints more attacking ideas - although what he can do with our current back line is a troubling question.

But 12 months is a LONG time in RL. A coach can go from being hailed a genius to the garbage heap very quickly. What do we do if Huddersfield fall apart and we're waiting for a coach that no longer seems up to the job?

Wrong. McManus' job is to assess whether the player he's being asked to sign is worth the budget. That decision isn't solely down to money - he has to think whether he believes whatever talent that player possesses is valuable.

This point raised its head last season when Royce requested another prop for this season but apparently we could not afford one.

We'll have to differ. You say that the Chairman has the last say, I say the chairman is there to facilitate the coach.

The exception to this would be any signings made between coaches where the coaching team would need to make a collective decision.

I can't see any coach, wanting to coach a team where hee can't pick which players to keep and which to let go.
