"Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!" Matthew 4:19

Things I learned on 11/08/12

Gareth Hock can't pass

Can we have him please??

Think he's top talent for you guys and his runs cut us to pieces on Friday

Are you barmy? No, no, no, completely insane?

Why would we want Lomax? No offense to the Saints fans (he can be great and he took his chances when they were gifted to him on Friday) but we have Briers and Myler in the halves and then we have Ratchford and GOB waiting for an opportunity? As much as people like to bag Myler, he really is as good as the price tag he demanded. He may not be the finished article but he is absolutely devastating and has bags of potential. Briers is the best half back in super league, on his day (which is becoming more and more often). GOB is true class and can easily play in super league (I hope he is given his shot this week) and every club was after Ratchford's signature last year. Plus, in the very rare instance we desperately need a new halfback, we buy a new one and it would be to replace Briers (a natural leader and something Lomax just isn't...yet, maybe).

So, what in the blue hell would we do with Lomax? If he was in the Wolves set up and we were building around him, fair enough. But to buy him at this point is ridiculous. Do you just walk around getting the most recent shiny thing you see with no thought to it's significance? If Ah Van scores a wonder try this weekend you going to be asking the Chemic fans for him?

Please!

It wouldn't be a priority signing for Warrington, but surely you can't honestly rate Myler as a scrum half? He's woeful.

We still could do with a genuine #7 longer term, but Lomax can most certainly be devastatingly effective playing there for the next few years. Writes hampton saint.

A slightly paradoxical statement don't you think?. (longer term/next few years).

Leave Lomax where he is and and the genuine #7 that you so desire will metamorphose.

Paradoxical how? There simply aren't any Saints-quality SHs available anywhere on the market at all right now (Matty Smith being about the best we could realistically sign saying everything that needs to be said) - that's why the club tried so desperately to hang on to Eastmond a year past the point where they should have offloaded him after all. We have no alternative but to make do with someone filling in until (if) a better #7 becomes available - that will take at least a few years given the barren wasteland that is GB back talent right now. Lomax will do very nicely thank you as that interim #7 - maybe in years to come he'll develop a consistent kicking game and with experience he'll learn how to read and run a game and become the genuine #7 article. I hope so but ultimately he'll still likely end up at #1 for me.

He's a more rounded 7 than Longy was at his age.

For sale thirty brand new suits, made in 2007 never been worn but rather tear stained.
Apply to Wigan warriors rented accommodation.

2 nil will get you a win
30 nil will get you a win
75 nil is absolute humiliation.

In what respect?

He passes well
He scores tries
He makes tries
He's quick
He can marshal a team when he has to
He is mind blowingly good at defence for a half.

He can't kick and he does go missing when Briers is playing but he is young and has time to develop them traits. He hasn't been a hindrance to us in matches (Like one Lee Gaskell has for you)

I like him.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.

Whilst you are so good why don't you give your own head a shake & start supporting the town and team where you live.
You make Lord Haw Haw look like a Patriot.

To be fair, just because you live in a town does not mean you have to support that town. If you lived in Wakefield would you support them????

I've no idea on Saddened, but like me he could well be an ex pat.

Chopping and changing teams based on where you live would be a bit much for most fans. Most people tend to pick one team and stick with it.
