Should also add a comment Phil Gould made last year. He basically said that every 'playing group' (i.e. team) has a view on their coach, and if/when the players lose faith in the coach, it's almost impossible to get back, and that players will not give 100% for a coach they don't rate.

I was just going to post something along those lines. There's a difference between a player revolt and a set of players who aren't inspired by their coach or are confused by his instructions. I suspect the latter is the case here.

Cats were the deserved winners and claiming that because Pryce played the ball after he'd been tackled (which he obviously did) you should be declared the victors (whether morally or not) is madness.

They say that refereeing mistakes even themselves out over the season. Well considering Saints nicked, at least 10 maybe 14 or 16, points off cats (1 try for saints and 2 disallowed for cats), the 6 they scored off the Pryce mistake isn't really worth quibbling over.

Could have and should have been much worse. However, I will agree with you that it wasn't Royce's fault.

Look, I'm not surprised people around the club have a lot of time for Simmons, he seems a genuinely lovely bloke.

But he's paid to coach the team, not win popularity contests. I'm not surprised the players have lost faith in him - he looks clueless, sounds clueless and his team has been reflecting it in our worst run of form for 20 odd years . . . . we haven't even played Leeds, Wigan or Wire yet and we're 9th.

I would have been far more worried if we HAD played Leeds, Wigan and Wire but still been in ninth than being in ninth going into those matches.

You have no evidence - as yet - that the players had lost faith in him.
