2 years is about right. There's not too much wrong with Jamie's game, technically speaking, but he isn't particularly blessed in any area as an athlete either (with the exception of his tremendous goal kicking, of course). At the moment he's a bit of a passenger when it comes to returning kicks and helping out from dummy half early in the tackle count, but with a bit more meat on his bones he may be able to offer more in those areas.

Meh, indifferent to this news. Not bothered if he leaves in 2 years or stays.

Tony Stewart was absolute gash. Foster has already shown more talent than Stewart did in his whole Saints career.

More talent than someone who was gash. Doesnt really say a lot.

gardner has been slated for years because he played outside some top centres and ergo, all his tries were put on a plate for him ala meli with Foster. At least Stewart could beat a man and even go length of the field whilst not being a speed bump in defense, but I degress...

Take Fosters goal kicking out of the equation and he's mid table at best. Doesnt have the size or speed for the modern day winger. Im not hating on him, just saying how it is

2 years is about the perfect deal - he's not a nailed on starter yet by any means and needs to improve a fair bit more and scrub out the bad tendencies in his game that started creeping in alarmingly over the second half of last season before he's worth committing a longer term, bigger money contract to. He's at the stage in his career where he could end up as either a better class Ade Gardner, or as another Danny Arnold/Joey Hayes/David Tanner depending on how he develops and applies himself and we'll see which it is over those 2 years now I guess.
