For a start off, drink driving is vile and perpetrators should not be given any degree of tolerance whatsoever. If he is guilty of it then I would be very happy to see the back of him for at least a seriously long suspension, just to make it clear to him that putting other people's lives at risk in such a reckless way will not be tolerated by my club. But aside from the moral issue of drink driving and indeed the legal implications, from a team point of view it is not the sign of a good team player to be so irresponsible just before a match. We were a man down on Sunday because of his idiotic behaviour (irrespective of whether he is guilty of the drink driving bit - just by being out late and crashing cars made him thoughtless). He put pressure on his team mates some of whom were backing up and some playing with injury. For that alone he should be disciplined.

the lads a fool to himself..i believe one ladies night he attended for one of the testimonial's a while back..(think it was mike bennet's)..he was making a complete pratt of himself and showing off....taking the mickey out of the comedian....the wife attended and said he was an embarrasment.

He's already been fined by Royce for stinking of ale at training.. His excuse was, I'm injured!
If he was garbage we'd sack him. But he's a back up for Roby so it'll be warning. Still an idiot tho

Plenty of young players get into this kind of thing. They can't cope with the responsibility of the routine when all their mates are out living it up and they don't realise how lucky they are. Whilst I don't condone drink driving at all, there have been plenty of players at the club with drinking problems before and I hope there is a solution that will see Scott stay at Saints.

So I should be strung up because I fell asleep in my mates car, on a country lane near Egremont, with the keys in the dash? (24 years ago)

I don't drink and drive at all, that said there's a world of difference between someone who has 3/4 pints over 4 hours and drives home, and someone who is so drunk they drive into 3! cars, that's being completely drunk and getting behind the wheel and lucky not to kill anyone

Thank God we've moved on in those 24 years. Wasn't Jimmy Saville doing his seatbelt ads back then? People used to drink and drive freely back then. I remember being in a car with a lad who was absolutely out of his skull on alcohol. Being a teenager and not a driver meant I was clueless as to the impact drink had upon a driver. I can still remember that journey now, and still see the lad's face. I've no sympathy at all, if that is what Scott has done. IF.
