I'd rather have Dixon in there but Royce seems to prefer Ashurst.

i prefere ashurst from wat i have seen makes a lot make yards going forward then dixon and is in the game a lot more

I thought Dixon was starting to show some promise in the middle of last year and was playing pretty well until he picked up his injury.

In what respect, if you look at the stats bearing in mind we don't know how many minutes they played for - in attack Ashurst makes 5.6 meters per carry whilst Dixon makes 6.11, Ashurst makes 18 tackcles per game whilst Dixon makes 16,etc,etc so they appear if anything very similar.
I feel that since Dixon has returned from being dropped/injured (unsure of which) that he has really up his game he looks a lot sharper and more physical in the tackle.I remember reading Royce's comment after the Sheffield game that he was disappointed with Dixon being injured as he was just hitting some form.

We're a big forward light in general. When one drops out the bench looks ridiculously weak.

Ashurst has quite clearly played a lot more minutes. Dixon looks like he would make more breaks/busts/offloads/marker tackles if they had the same game time, but it also looks like he's miss more tackle/make more mistakes.

I know Clough's not that big, but if he was about it would lessen the pain of missing one of our 4 props a lot.
