Even if fox did hit it out of Richards hands, it touched both of Richards hands last. That would then be deemed knock on with hull KR head and feed as fox would have had to have knocked it back.

I thought it was a knock at first glance. But watching it back, Thaler supposedly gave it because an alternative angle showed Richards fingers didn't leave the ball. Even though on the head on shot it appears as though the ball separates from Richards fingers.

Still he judged it on that alternate angle where Pat's fingers don't appear to the leave the ball. Therefore it should have been benefit of the doubt try to the attacking side IMO. Rather than just a try. Still the same result in the end though, a try.

The best shot was the head on shot, it's the nearest to the play and clearly shows the was daylight. Fix IMO knocked it backwards out of Richards hands but hit pats both hands before hitting the ground which is knock on and 22 meter tap.

It's no big deal now, I very much doubt the score would have been much different.

I'll be honest I thought under the new rule change it was a try. The player doesn't need to have control of the ball, just downward pressure and to me his fingertips were still on the ball.

I would love to say it wasn't a try but his fingertips were still on it, you could see from the side angle, so unfortunately I'd have to say it was a try.

Saying that it could have easily been given as a no try, just depends who the video ref is on the day.

There is an argument for that however it was stated by sky at HT that Thaler said it never left his hand so he obviously needs new specs.

You can't blame a ref for VR decision to start with

as for general reffing standards this season ,I can only tell you what i've seen from matches attended and that is almost all the refs i've seen have been fine,especially Alibert twice who was outstanding and Hicks and Thomason from the Championship /SL who were faultless

I watched Mr Child and he was absolute dross - Thaler was borderline at best.

I can only give my opinion as I see it,can't I ?

Touch judges need to give more input to help the refs IMO - some of the touch judging this season HAS been poor IMO (ie the Roby lino forward pass incident against us being the most blatant)
