For me this is more of an argument for letting him go. Come the off-season we will have an urgent need for a top quality three-quarter, and quite possibly a half-back and a prop as well. Given that we have a fair amount of depth in the back row (okay, they aren't all world-beaters, but they are capable), wouldn't it be wise to free up a quota spot and a chunk of cap space by releasing Flannery and reinvesting elsewhere in the squad?

Retaining Lomax's services at scrum half further exacerbates a problem we've had for the last two/three years: Wellens.

Lomax is probably the junior best placed to take the FB slot. He's played there before and he has the footwork to give us the kind of yardage returns we've been short of for years. If he does take the spot then it's logical to argue we need a scrum half. Which kind of leaves us between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Throw into the mix the need for one additional prop (regardless of whether Jammer AND Puletua choose to stay).

I honestly think we should let Pryce go. If he is fully fit and firing he is a tremendous player, and defo one of the most destructive in the league, but seriously what is the point if he is spending large chunks of the season out injured?

He is also reaching that age where injuries are that much more difficult to shake off. I say save the money on the cap and look elsewhere.

I'm surprised you think we need another prop, even with Graham and Puletua staying. I'd say our current crop of frint rowers is more than strong enough, especially as Clough is looking more and more like a top class prop forward as every week passes.
