Just how much spare salary cap room do we have? Jamie Lyon has said there that we approached him about this season.

So we're sat on enough cap room to pay a world class player? Unbelievable. And to think I get abused on here when I say the club has no ambition to win anymore.

Jamie Lyon was wonderful for us during those two years but personally I would rather he stays as a great memory than have him come back when he's past it.

I'd prefer to invest in our young players or if there isn't a great young centre coming through our ranks just now, pick a classy young one from elsewhere.

Agree 100% with that. If he wants to see his contract out for a further two years (32yrs old) then we should forget him.

You won't be complaining if the club bring in a world class player at a later stage this season though, will you. Personally I prefer to have money available should anyone good enough become available.

No I will not. I wouldn't have minded us going into the season with 2 centres and 4 props either.

Saints dont do two centres, we will wait until shenton retires before we sign a centre

we've got 2 centre's. Does not mean the coach will play them both.

I mean two proper centres. Not a winger that covers a centre spot orca stand off that covers a centre spot (tho gaz is doing ok job) but a centre that's experinced there, one that can beat a man and knows when to give his winger the ball and when to stick hold.

I also agree with saddened that four real props would have been nice.

However, the does seem a shortage of top quality centres and props at the moment but the fact saints have played with one centre since talau went Salford is pretty shocking.
