I would happily use all my powers to persuade Meli to go home if we could just have a proper rugby league player in his place. One who is not bothered about his coolness but instead wants to do stuff like tackle and take the ball forward.

So where is this new signing then? Any whispers at all as to who it could be?

Seems rather suicidal to release another two players if we're not about to announce one coming in.

What is it this year? 8 out, 3 in so far?

Rumours I've heard today:

Stuart Fielden to St Helens
Joel Tomkins to Saracens (£350k compensation)
Jamie Foster & Tom Makinson to Wigan (£100k)
Puletua to retire
Vave to St Helens

One has to hope it's just silly season.

You can add Tom Burgess to you on that list by all accounts.

I can't see Wigan wanting Foster and Makinson. We aren't eaxactly short of wingers. Saying that I'd take Makinson if he can play centre?

Where did you hear the Tom Burgess one? I think he's nailed on to join the rest of them in Australia isn't he? He still has a year left on his Bradford deal, which I think rules us out. After that, if he's good enough, I think he'll end up in the NRL.

Someone on the Wigan board had heard it. Like I said over there, Tom's always in the T&A begging for Bradford to give him a new deal. Perhaps you've seen that and nipped into get him.

Tom has said to himself that he wants to make a name for himself in the Superleague for a few years before thinking about the NRL, as he doesnt want to play reserve grade over there when he could play SL over here.

I still fail to see how we would 'nip' in anywhere given that he's under contract.
