I only have to hope the club have someone lined up to play on the wing in 12 months time once Meli goes.
However is there anyone of sufficient quality out of contract in Superleague at the end of 2013?
As things stand it looks like a 31 year old Ade Gardner will be filling in on the left wing in 2014.
Now granted Gards has been an excellent servant of the club, however few wingers play on into their 30's at a high level as their fading pace lets them down. Gardner has never been the quickest and so in 12 months he is likely to get exposed for lack of pace even more than he does now.
People thinking of signing good quality NRL players need to wakeup and smell the coffee. It isnt going to happen from here on in.
So it looks like we will be going with a kid on the wing. Perhaps Saints see Percival or perhaps Ash filling in on one of the wing spots in 2014.
