Having watched Shenton most of his career this season hasn't been his best. But there is no doubt in my mind that Saints have got themselves a good one there. Shentons problems this year have probably been down to a couple of injuries and the lack of a scrum half getting the ball his way. He's been moved from his favoured left centre position this year and not have a regular wing partnership would have hindered him.
I think Shenton is a better player than Gleeson was when he signed for Saints. He is a honest grafter that gets on with his job without all the hype, tattoos and silly hair styles that curtain other centres have to bring attention to themselves.
I will continue to cheer him on when he's on TV and look forward to seeing him improve over the years to come.
