His opposite number tonight was much better than Mose tonight. Mose might have done ok tonight but without knocking London, he's up against a very poor team.

I don't want a prop that will go missing against Leeds, Wigan, hudds and the wolves and then pop up with some half decent runs against a championship level time.

I'll stick by my opinion on Mose.

He's been playing for around 10 weeks now, roughly the length of pre season. He didn't have a pre season so I'll take this as his and will judge him from what he does onwards from now, even so I think he's had a lot of uncalled for criticism.

Also, whilst Vea was his opposite number in terms of shirts, he was playing in the second row so you can't really compare the two.

I can understand what your saying about him not being for and no pre-season but I don't think his fitness is the problem. He wasn't fit against the kiwis in the works cup, in fact he was over a stone overweight but run hard, put effort in and was busting tackles.

He looks in decent shape to me but couldn't break out a paper bag. Looks very very easy to stop. I'd actually want him on the field if I was playing against him as he's a accident waiting to happen.

It's easy for opposition because when he takes it up he's alone. Ever at u13s you know to support the ball carrier and wer're not, as a result masoe gets 4/5 piled in every time he touches it, and he looks flat as a result. The few occasions tonight (and previously) he has been able to iht players 1on1 he's made very good yardage.

The more I see of this year, the less I believe individual players are the problem ...

Ok, i get that but so does Amor & walmsley but they ain't stopped in their tracks.

I just feel he lacks aggression.

Walmsley arches his runs a lot more, and spins a lot in the tackle, making it tough to get a lot of bodies in - Amor is a lot faster and better at isolating defenders and space. Masoe, and soliola, have very direct styles, that are getting picked off easily at the moment. If either gets the ball away in the tackle a couple of times to a lomax pushing through in support, the defence will hang back a little, and they'll look 10 times better for it. This is what masoe had in the World Cup - Milford on his shoulder at every chance.

I agree he lacks agression, but again could that not be said for the entire team?

So basically Mose will only be good if used correct (that will never happen each week), so if it comes down to the hard yards in tough games we might as well forget him then.

I've said all along we lack aggression and this is possibly the most soft team I've ever seen in rugby but this is the "smiling assassin", the "wreaking ball", he'd like a "human avalanche", " he's like a wall"!

He's a big name signing, who in his words "hits people before they hit me".

I think we've got another flop on our hands. I pray to god I'm wrong as I so want him to be the player we expected but I've serious doubts.

The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.
Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.

Re: masoe and the rest : Thu May 01, 2014 10:00 pm
He looks de coached to me and not used the right way, we don't have any intensity in our game.
The frustrating thing he always gets a flat ball semi static most of the time, when we attack near the line Masoe comes charging in only to be a decoy runner to attract defenders...this isn't working.

I don't think Mose is as good as him.

Honestly, I just don't know what this guy brings.

I think to be fair to Masoe he's been put on a programme designed to get him fit. He's clearly worked hard to shift the excess timber and is doing pretty big minutes now without any real signs of excessive fatigue. Once Saints are happy with his fitness I'm sure he'll go to playing fewer minutes but being told to wind it up and go all out in short bursts.

The fact the attacking structures are such an utter disgrace probably isn't helping him either. The distribution is so, so slow, meaning most of the time the forwards get the ball stood still with five men rapidly descending on them.
