I went to Oldham for our replecement derby on the coach with my school mate / team mate Shaun Allen, a year or two later he was playing in the Lancashire Cup Final against Wigan at Central Park with Mighty Mal !

The goons financial status is inextricably linked to their association with a premiership footy club who subsidise their existence. For many years goons supporters have been praying for the footy club to get relegated. Now it is looking like becoming reality, they will have to start to fund a greater share of the dw costs. Their marginal profitability will soon evaporate.

Well if you wont ... The simple facts are as long as we have several multimillionaires happy to bankroll us the rest is irrelevant. But we're lucky to have the sort of backer who also wants to put the club on firm foundations, not just play "rugby league chairman"
