I was told that Kyle has been brain washed into thinking he's worth a huge contract.

Given the amount of interest in Kyle I think it's pretty clear, and has been for a while, that if we want to keep him we're going to have to pay big bucks.

I don't think Mac has got on particularly well with Kyle's agent(s) for 4/5 years from conversation's I've had.

Mac is no fool - he won't get bent over by an agent and if Mac thinks he's asking too much, it'll be adios for sure.

me neither - but what about our first choice scrum half, an England international (and Englands best scrum half) and our best player in his only Grand Final appearance?

Its hard to argue that kyle isnt at very least one of our top 3 players. Within the salary cap contraints, it is quite possible to have these three on at least £250 k, so i doubt it is all about money.
My guess (and thats what it is) is that Kyles agent (not kyle) wants a relatively short term deal, ie 2 years again and Sir Mac wants 4-5 years as he wont want to go through this in another 18 months.
Kyle isnt (yet) the superstar Jason robinson was when he changed codes, so the money from them wont be ridiculous, but if he had 2 amazing seasons it might be.

Would a Union club throw silly money at a young lad from RL who can't stay off the treatment table? I thought the days of cross code gambles went out the window with the Andy Farrell debacle?

I think its more of the ' RU steal RL star' thing they are going for. I admit he is a very good player but such a massive money gamble by Bath on a player lke you said, who can't get off the treatment table.
