I'm in total shock he's been putting percy on the wing and percy been training on the wing. Fair enough we have both wingers out but you don't move our best centre.

Like I said, it's a friendly so I'm not judging yet but I do fear for us this year both in attack and defence

I still can't believe Percival is playing on the wing, a real waste imo.

Saints treated the game as a friendly as a warm up game? No aggression no urgency just crap.

Peyroux didn't impress and Tasi was getting knocked back very easily.

Play like that in season opener and we'll get nilled.

But Percival is past this stage he's the most natural centre we have at the club. This is a squad game these days and you need others to practice the centre player position as well be it a new player not familiar with the game plays or the underdeveloped player outside the 17 team.
We don't get the opportunity to do this so much in season so trying things out in friendlies are ideal, but they are not infinitum, I don't why some fans are getting huffed up about it, Percival might play the odd game at winger, fullback, loose forward but its obvious he is a potential international centre and will always be recognised as such.

The trouble with friendlies are that they are friendly.

Everyone wants to learn something from them, but mostly they just cause worry and concern.

Didn't widnes win the same fixture last year? Did that change how the league placings panned out? Did it tell anyone anything.

We've no idea were the teams and players are mentally.

Do you try new things in a friendly or leave that till the regular season.

Agree and it's too early to start making accurate predictions after a game like that. My only slight nagging doubt wasn't actually the result or performance it's that there was just nothing new on show at all. Nothing fresh just the same old stuff from last season which was, frankly, dull.

Of the new guys Fages looks like he'll go well and Owens could be good. Tasi and Peyroux have some work to do.

Let's see how we go after 3 or 4 games. Do well and we'll go well. Badly and there will be calls for change...
