From that squad.

Wellens and Jones to miss out for me. Flanagan would be my preferance over Jones in the pack. He is a great tackler and last year he started to show a little bit going forwards.

Jones is solid but I think Flanagan has the edge in the pack.

I think so too, Flash will have a better workrate and skill set, he also tackles above his weight and runs down the right channel to offload to the centre and winger.

Didn't you have sav in your starting 17 on the thread I started ?


I just think jones offers more with the ball than flash. Flash is dead when taking up really. Jones can bust a tackle.

I had Thompson in instead of Flanagan - I still question whether Sav has the physical fitness to play any role other than impact prop. Hopefully he will in time, but until he's putting in longer minutes I wouldn't consider moving him back yet.

Flanagan is a strange one. He was as run of the mill as they come at the start of last season, but he seemed to find a decent pair of hands towards the end of the season. It's a big year for flash, so I'd give him the chance to win a new contract, just like wheeler got last year

Take a look at the size of Jones. He isn't a centre anymore (never has been).

Flanagan offers nothing in offence. He's a defensive back rower. His 'decent hands' resulted in not a single player outside him scoring a try in the Play Offs. You literally made it up as you went along. Wellens offers nothing anywhere but full back and we don't need one.

Jones all day in a shoot out between these three.
