It can,t be clear cut what the saints player did on the basis that they all blamed it on the wrong player in Wello.

The match will be reviewed by the video review panel and if necessary the disciplinary. Leave it to them to sort out.

I'm not sure if they meet this week or next with it being a "friendly weekend"

Agreed that manakufoa shouldnt have done what he did but what was very clear is that a saints player punched him several times while he was on the floor ala flower,the only difference was it wasnt in front of over 70k crowd and several hundred thousand watching on the box,doesnt make it any less important,it also doesnt matter who threw the punches they should get a ban simple as

Was Manakufoa unconscious at the time? If not, then there was more than one difference.

I wasn't at the game at the weekend, so I can't comment on the Wilkin/Manukafoa incident; if he's thrown punches at a player on the ground then I suspect he'll get a ban, and fair enough. But the most memorable and shocking thing about the Flower episode was that Hohaia was quite clearly unconscious when Flower hit him the second time (and yes, given that Flower had the time to lean over him, grab hold of his shirt and cock his fist back, I think he did know he was unconscious). That's why it was all over the news, and that's why he got a lengthy ban. So really, unless Manukafoa was unconscious - which I assume from your response he wasn't - to claim that the incidents are the same is daft.

I suspect every half punch thrown by a Saints player in any situation next year will receive the same treatment by a select section of opposition fans

Dux imo flower was that pumped up and the incident was that quick he didnt have the time to evaluate whether hohiah was out cold and even if he wasnt knocked out it was well out of order smacking him while he was down,thats my point you dont hit anyone while they are down,its an unwritten law most of us abide to

As ive said in a previous post manakufoa deserved 10 for what he did as it was dangerous and thats why wilkin reacted but wilkin deserves a ban for what he did

The incident happened right in front of me, Wilkin pushed him, then punched him, then there a punch at another widnes player who came running in. He didn't hit manukafoa twice.

Didn't see the incident, but if Wilkin hit a man when he was lying on the floor, then he deserves a very long ban. Not many things you can do worse than that. If he's swung punches "front on", then he should get away with 2.

We might get lucky, if the camera at the game and Silverwood missed it he'll probably get away with it.

Yep he punched a player but the player was on the floor and thats all that matter
